When we arrived we walked through the bar area and every single member of staff smiled and said hello! That is a great start, we felt welcome before we even checked in. The room we had was basic, but extremely clean and comfortable, the bed was so comfy and we both slept well. We did hear noise from outside, but you are in the town centre and it was a Saturday night, it didn’t last long and it was merrymaking from people having a good time. We would stay here again and we would recommend. We didn’t eat here because we were meeting friends, next time.
Considering we arrived from Canada for my nephew's wedding weekend the day before. We truly cannot praise the staff and owner enough. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out everything was brilliant. The rooms, the service, the food was above and beyond. We truly recommend this hotel for a lovely weekend away. Had a birthday lunch here today , with a special friend . Nice warm atmosphere , friendly staff. Enjoyed the fish gujon sandwich with lettuce and fresh rocket (delicious ) with a latteé and iced water. Nice venue for a lunchtime break . Lovely old building. Thoroughly recommend. Trefor, Laura and all the staff at The Kings Head Wimborne deserve a massive pat on the back. We recently had our wedding at Deans Court in Wimborne and many of our guests including myself (Groom) stayed at the hotel… from the first point of enquiry right through until Check Out they couldn’t have done anymore. The rooms were perfect for all ages and party sizes, the food was great and the hotel even had entertainment on the night before our big day. The staff went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend the best it could possibly be! We had the 5 star treatment and we will definitely be returning!

06/01-11/01/2026 Really lovely stay at the hotel with the team scooping me up at a time when I wasn’t feeling 100% myself at all. Warm and caring greeting from Karen who encouraged me to wake her at anytime overnight, if needing support. Upgraded to an even nicer room so I was closer to reception areas. The team was fabulous …all seemed to really enjoy what they do, taking pride in providing an excellent level of customer service. I overheard interactions with the boss who seemed well liked…that always makes a difference! The room was immaculately clean, warm and comfortable with the usual expected facilities. There was a great variety of choice for breakfast (I highly recommend having cooked), and the restaurant provided a great selection of delicious, well priced meals throughout the day. Great atmosphere and coffee in the bar too. At a time when I was feeling a little vulnerable this was a truly lovely stay and I’d like to thank every member of them for taking such great care of me!
Had a lovely Christmas lunch for a group of 8 and cannot speak to highly for the truly SUPERB - OUTSTANDING service we received from the amazingly helpful staff Zoe, Jess and Lauren. Despite having to look after many other tables, they really did go the ‘extra mile’ for us (and presumably all the other diners !). These three staff really DID make our lunch such an enjoyable experience.
Laura on the front desk was extremely helpful when we arrived :-) Amazing location in the town center, with easy safe onsite parking. Great well sized and appointed room. Tasty food and a great stay!
